All Wooster City School District Athletics Canceled Until Monday, April 6
The Wooster City School District is canceling all athletic activities until Monday, April 6 in compliance with the closure of Wooster City Schools, the Governor of Ohio and the Ohio High School Athletic Association. The canceled activities include games, practices, workouts, meetings and any kind of organized gatherings.
In addition, the use of all Wooster City School athletic facilities will be prohibited during this time.
“While we are disappointed to miss out on our athletics and team events, this is the best decision for the safety and health of our student-athletes, as well as the coaching staff, referees, umpires and all involved in school athletics,” said Joe Rubino, athletic director for Wooster High School. “We look forward to getting back on the field and the court as soon as possible. We are grateful for our community’s support during this difficult time.”
While Wooster High School student-athletes will not be able to practice or play, coaches expect them and encourage them to continue practicing on their own. Coaches will send individual workout instructions to their teams via Remind and Google Classroom.
As more information about Wooster City School athletics becomes available, it will be shared as soon as possible.
