Generals News · Wooster Volleyball Finishes as District Runner Up

The Wooster Generals Volleyball Team played in it’s first District Final since 2007 on Saturday at Padua Franciscan High School.  The Generals took an OCC Championship team (second year in a row)  into the OHSAA playoffs with a first round bye. After defeating Brecksville Broadview Heights last week, the Generals knew that they had a tall task in taking on the reigning state champ Bruins who continue to carry the top rank in the state currently.  Competing in Division I Northeast District in the second straight game without Senior Hitter Elana Wagonner (injury), the Generals continued to step up big.  Senior Cassidy Simms (Libero) and a host of other players who worked hard against Padua’s tall front line and systematically placed defense.  Through three hard fought games, the Generals came up short (25-19, 25-11, 25-11).  Coach Snowbarger’s team represented our school district and community well and we are proud of our District Runner up General’s.  Congratulations to our Generals on a great season and thank you for your memorable play and contribution to our community.
