The 7th grade Generals beat Madison Tuesday night moving to 2-0-1 on the season. In a hard hitting game against a large Madison front line, Wooster’s speed and depth made a big difference.
Wooster scored first on a long drive capped off by a Charlie Williams touchdown run. The drive ate up most of the third quarter, and began to wear down the Rams defensive front.
After stopping Madison’s next drive, and the Generals facing fourth and short Hayden Meese found the corner on a misdirection play scampering 40 yards to the end zone. Brian Lapp’s pass to Charlie Williams gave the Generals a 2-point conversion and the lead 14-0.
Madison scored with seconds left in the game, but it was too little too late as the Generals secured the win.
