The 7th grade Wooster Generals opened the season with a lighting shortened game against Mt. Vernon. The game was stopped with Wooster holding an 18-0 lead with just over two minutes left in the first half.
After stuffing the Jackets on the opening drive of the game, Wooster took over and went 30 yards on four plays to take a 6-0 lead. A.J. Likowski scored on a 14-yard run around right end.
After again shutting down Mt. Vernon’s offense, the Generals next possession lasted just one play. Tevin Barnhill broke free on a 40-yard scamper to put Wooster up 12-0.
Wooster scored the third touchdown of the game defensively when Konrad Klemz picked up a Mt. Vernon fumble and rumbled to the end zone.
Wooster’s solid defense did not allow a first down.
The game will be continued if the schedule allows at a later date.
